Stayed at the Erboy in Oct 09. For a budget hotel, good choice. |

The Erboy has small rooms, but they are very clean and adequate. The location is close to the "Gulhane" Metro line stop, which means you can ride in from the Ataturk airport for 3 YTL. (It takes about one hour, with a transfer. Buy 2 jetons when you start.) There are free fast email connections via two computers in the lobby, which are great for keeping up. The decent breakfast buffet is typical of Turkish hotels, but with no homemade specialties. But best of all was the very low Skoosh bargain price which was available for early advance purchasers. |

The hotel is well situated, within a walking distance to all attractions in the Old City. Or if you prefer to avoid the uphill |

Small room but adequate for city break. Clean and well-serviced, though some basic maintenance was lacking. Drying line in bathroom was a bonus. Our room (fifth floor at rear) was quiet for outside noises but there was some disturbance from internal noises. Likely to have been much worse if the roof terrace restaurant had been in use. A room on the fourth floor, at the end of the corridor, would have been better. Breakfast was good for quantity and choice, though unchanging and mediocre in quality. Evening meal in restaurant was disappointing. Excellent location for major sights and transport links but less so for choice of high-quality eating options. Staff friendly and very helpful. Availability of safe deposit box at front desk was welcome as was free internet access. Quite good value for money overall. |

I would definitely recommend this very clean hotel, located in an attractive neighbourhood in the center of Istanbul. Staffmembers are kind and always willing to help. The rooms are quite small, but the city doesn't allow you to spend much time inside. Breakfast is good too! |
