While Bally's lacks the grandeur of some of the other hotel/casinos on the strip, we would still recommend it. The location is great, right in the middle of the strip, with easy access to Paris, Bellagio, Caesar's Palace, and the Monorail. Check-in was quick (though that was largely because of when we got there - we saw longer check-in lines on Saturday and Sunday afternoons). Our only complaint was that we were told we were getting a room with a king bed, but when we got to the room it was a queen. We called the front desk and they said we could switch rooms the next day, but we never did. The room and bed were very comfortable, and the room (in the North Tower) was much larger than we expected. The Sidewalk Cafe had great food. The staff were helpful and nice. Great value!

Large room verty comfortable. Use of the in room safe was an extra $3 a day, internet access and additional $11.99 a day. Even factoring these extra costs, it was a good value for this location and this size room. I didn't watch any TV while there, but it is an older analog TV with limited channels if that is of convern to you. I booked this room because my conference hotel was full. I saved over $100/night and only had a short walk each morning. COnvenient for visiting the strip and the staff was super friendly and helpful.

In the North Tower, the rooms are spacious and first rate. I understand that the South Tower is older and not so nice. The buffet was disappointing, but I would eat there again if there was no place else to go. The only reason I wouldn't stay at Bally's again is that the casino is smokier than other casinos I visited. I dreaded walking through it whenever I entered or exited the hotel. I would recommend Bally's to smokers, but not to non-smokers.
