The Best Downtown Area Hotel

If you are planning to stay in the downtown area, I recommend you stay at the Golden Nugget. The Carson Tower is the older tower, but the room is clean, spacious and nicely appointed. For a more spa feel, try the Rush Tower. The Carson Street Cafe menu was a little disappointing for those who are health conscious. Red Sushi was very good. The Health Spa, located in the Spa Tower, was nicely appointed with a Cardio Room, Weight Room and Locker Room with leather club chairs, flat screen televisions, refreshments and luxurious spa robes. If you do not want the spa treatment, you can still use the exercise facilities for $20.00 per day. Ask for a multi-day pass, the spa will give you a discount.

Pleasant stay at the Golden Nugget

I would recommend it to others who want to stay downtown (Fremont St) away from the Strip. We had a wedding in the GN and wanted to stay where the wedding was. The casino was a little smelly from smoke but not too bad to take. Rooms were big and nice and a great value for the money. Pool (especially 3rd floor - "the hideout") was very nice as was the service there. Not many food choices although the Grille (in the casino) was good but service a little slow. Buffet was expensive. If we were to stay downtown again, we'd stay at the Nugget again.

Another great experience

Good value on holiday weekend, check in check out a breeze. Awesome pillowtop mattresses in tru non-smoking room were a welcome relief after some hard charging nights at the table. Have stayed at Nugget before, will return again,
