Review Palace Station Hotel and Casino

Not three star

 2/5

Review by: , Sunnyvale, United States

1. They have a $16.xx a night hidden fee. $90 extra for a prepaid room!
2. The room we stayed in was on the second floor with no elevator.
3. Our window was an access road where employees entered the building and delivery's arrived . There were laborers moving long metal pipes at 2am. We were woken up a dozen times between 12am-9am... Funny thing, we got the best sleep berween 9am and 12 noon.
5. The shower we had my 110lbs girlfriend couldn't move around in without hitting the shower certain (small).
6. Walls are way too thin. The guy behind us was on his phone talking at normal level, I could hear everything.. not to mention walking to get ice and hearing 3 couples.

Palace Station = Roach Motel

This hotel needs some serious remodeling. There is no elevator to the 2nd FL, the floor in the rooms are uneven and in desperate need of new carpeting. You can see the patches of carpet where they were fixed. We saw many roaches in the hallway. Disgusting!

A decent low priced Option

While a far cry from a night at the Bellagio, the Palace Station was a decent low priced alternative.

The addtitional $15 a day service charge was a put off at first, but when you consider it covers the in room Wi-Fi as well as safe usage it comes out les than other hotels that charge for those same things.

I would highly suggest to takew the upgrade and stay in the tower for just a few dollars more as the rooms are 10x as nice and much larger.

Decent food choices, eacy self parking and a good choice of table games. Free Airport and strip shuttles are also a plus and saved me nearly $50 in Taxi fees.

Overall not a bad choice when looking at lower end hotels in Vegas.

Ok for the price

The hotel was ok for the price we paid. It was cheap on a NASCAR weekend when other hotels are fairly expensive. The rooms smelled of cigarette smoke even though they were supposed to be non-smoking. The TV didn't work and I'm pretty sure they don't wash the top bedspreads (we found gum stuck to one). However, we didn't expect too much given the price we paid. The slot machines, on the other hand, were very tight. This must be how they can charge so little for the rooms...they make up for it on the slot machines.

Palace Station more like the henchman's hut

Although the room rates are great (and they offered us an extra night at $19.99) we most likely won't be staying at the Palace Station again. The wear and tear is taking a toll on the hallways and the common areas... The room was nice, but the person who designed the remodeled bathrooms forgot a towel bar near the sink, and put a shelf above the sink so it was difficult to wash my face without hitting the shelf. The Feast Buffet was cafeteria quality (if even). The selections were weird. There were brussel sprouts on the buffet. No one eats them at home, why would you be excited to see them at a restaurant? Shrimp gumbo with the shells on. Untouched. Also, the breakfast bar was still dirty and had old rolls and bagels on it even though we ate supper there at about 8 pm each day. Gross.

Cheap Room

We paid very little for this room on a holiday. There is an additional fee of $16 for access. We used the wireless access but not any of the other things we were charged for. The room was older and small. The oyster bar has great food. I did well on the slots. If you just need a place to sleep then this is a good value.

What the! $16.75 Resort Fee PER DAY

What the! $16.75 Resort Fee PER DAY
The price is for a 1960's motel wing they have and then they add a manditory resort fee of $16 plus per day on top of what you pay here. You can get a much better place for $60.00 per night average rate.

The place is generally ok

i would not recommend this hotel. Apparently i did not read the "fine print." I thought I was getting a good deal only to find out when I got there that they automatically add $16.49 to my "good deal" for the airport shuttle, wireless internet, etc. I was under the influence that all of this came with the price quoted. Apparently this happens ALOT with this hotel because she had a piece of paper at hand to show me where it was stated. I went to one of the restaurants there and the leather seats were BADLY torn in numerous places. NOT staying there again!

Great price, not so great rooms

 3/5

The room was acceptable, but unless you are on a tight budget, I won't recommend it. It's off the main strip, not much is in the area, and the rooms are of motel quality.

Palace Station

Exorbitant ammenities fee ($17 per day). We did not use any of the ammenities (shuttles, wireless internet, etc.) but were still charged. If we hadn't paid such a low price for the room through Skoosh.com, we would have argued. However, with the low room price, we didn't have a right to complain. The rooms are standard and provide the basics. Excellent maid service. The great thing about staying is the location and the casino. PS is halfway between the strip and downtown and next to the freeway. Easy to get where you are going if you have a car.
