Hotel is very good value, centrally located to the main Liberdade Ave and complete with modernized (by anyone's standards) accommodations, especially the bathrooms.

Very good value and well appointed, modern accommodations right alongside Liberdade Ave. Most impressive was the front desk staff who were very friendly, efficient and accommodating. We arrived late (10:30 am)
for breakfast but too early for check in; however we were directed to a complimentary hot breakfast and were checked into our room before noon. Would certainly recommend this hotel!!

The location of this hotel couldnt be better. The rooms are small but clean and modern. The staff are friendly and more then helpful. Top value for money. This was our second time staying here ... and we brought two other couples with us, i would recommend it to any of my friends. Its not 5 star,,, nor would i expect it to be for this kind of money.

The staff were very customer orientated and of the best standard.
The hotel is in a good location
The room was very small
The range of food for breakfast was good but the "hot" breakfast was cold
I was surprised that a hotel rated as 3 stars did not have facilities for complimentary tea or coffee in the room.
I might inform others of it but would make them aware of its limitations. If one is only staying for one night, it is a hotel to fall back on if others are not available.

As a regular visitor to Lisbon (I go for the Fado music) I usually stay at another Skoosh hotel (the Residential Florescente) which is much closer to the shops, restaurants and clubs that I love. On this last visit however, because I booked at the last minute, the Florescente was full and I stayed at the Dom Carlos Liberty Hotel. The Dom Carlos was a little more expensive as it had a right to be. It is a brand new hotel with excellent staff and facilities. It is also air conditioned (which the Florescente isn't) and serves up a cooked buffet breakfast whereas the Florescente has a cold buffet. It should be said however that the breakfasts in both places are excellent and are included in the room price.
The only thing I have against the Dom Carlos is that it is in an uninteresting part of Lisbon and a long walk (about a kilometre) or a taxi ride from the heart of the city. To be fair this would possibly make it more attractive to businessmen and tourists who prefer some peace and quiet.

The only negative things I would say are that the room and washroom were very small - the smallest rooms I have ever occupied, additionally the view was of a brick wall (although sun still was able to come in as there was a large gap to the wall). I looked at the floor plans, it appears all rooms are small with the exception of two rooms on the top floor which also have balconies. Only one room on each floor faces a wall, the other rooms face the street. The traffic sound was a little noisy, but not at an unacceptable level, but it could be worse if your room faced the street. The top floor also had a useable gym, but not an open terrace (the Gym is located in an enclosed terrace). The location very close to a metro stop and close to the tourist areas made everything easily accessible. The quality of the room itself was high, no other complaints. I would probably try the sister hotel next time as I understand the rooms are bigger. The taxi fair from the hotel to the airport was €8 (the fair charged from the airport to the hotel was €22 - don't get ripped off, agree that the fair will be no more than €8 upfront - the taxis at the airport are crooks. The €8 included a 80 cent charge for requesting by phone and a €1.60 charge for baggage and was in the morning when traffic was relatively heavy. From maybe 11 - 6 the fare is higher, but not much (wouldn't expect the fair to exceed €10).
