I will recommend Hotel Nacional to others because of the professional staff, especially Valerio in the reception as well as the cleaning and breakfast personnel. Polite and care taking, and all ways with a smile.
We booked in advance, and therefore we had a reasonable price. So placement, price and staff makes a fine combination for a stay in Lisboa.

IT REALLY IS NOT A GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY WHEN YOU MUST CALL THE DESK (3 TIMES) AND ASK FOR AIR CONDITIONING. THE THIRD CALL THEY FINALLY
STARTED THE SYSTEM. IT TOOK ABOUT 6 HRS TO COOL THE ROOM.

BREAKFAST WAS O.K.

I EXPECTED MORE FOR THE MONEY.

LOCATION WAS GOOD.

We just returned from Lissabon. The price-quality ratio of this hotel was great. We booked 3 nights (+1 night for free). It was worth it, everything was clean, nice bathroom and a nice room. Friendly and helpful personnel. A beer in the bar was 1.80Euros. The location was good, 15 minutes away from the centre. You could also use the subway, at a 5 minutes distance. I recommend it for a citytrip. The food was very cheap. We had some nice meals in Belem on the terrace. In the centre were many fishrestaurants, on Avenida da Liberdade Fruits de Mer for 35 Euros p.p., very nice.

A nicely appointed hotel in a pleasant residential neighborhood, convenient to the Metro and bus lines and a pleasant walk to the Rossio. Breakfast was good and served in a cheerful sunny dining room. Staff was helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon.
