Pestana Palace is a 5 star hotel in Lisbon. Located in Lisbon city but only a short drive from the Estoril Coast and its beaches, the hotel incorporates a nineteenth century palace, now fully restored to its former glory and classified as a National Monument. The Pestana Palace looks over an inner private park lush with many subtropical trees and plants and enjoys panoramic views over the Tagus River. The hotel is surrounded by important landmarks of Lisbon like the Ajuda Palace and 10 minutes from historical centre of Belem, the Jeronimos Monastery, the Belem tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and the National Coach Museum. The hotel is within minutes from the Congress Center and the Belem Cultural Center, both important sites for International Congresses. The “Docas”, the new “in” area of the city is also nearby and features restaurants, bars and open air dining on a promenade facing the Tagus River and the Marina. The rooms are comfortably fitted with Cable television and in-house movies, fully stocked bar, in-room safe, robes, telephones with voicemail, and work desk. The hotel offers a business center; 24 hour concierge; dry cleaning/laundry; health club with indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and Scottish bath; shops, non smoking rooms, and 24 hour room service. Overlooking its magnificent private park, the acclaimed restaurant “Valle Flor” is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner serving Portuguese cuisine to the highest standard. During the milder months of the year, light meals and drinks are also served at “Casa do Lago”, a 19th century oriental pavilion overlooking the exterior pool. The bar “Allegro” is situated near the restaurant offering a light menu and live music in the evenings.

Reviews of Pestana Palace Lisbon

Review by: Graham, Bedfordshire, United Kingdom

Stayed: Mar 2008

Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Haunt of many pop stars and dignitaries. Great spa and very relaxing stay. A lot of the staff are quite young and inexperienced. A little far from the old town. One minor point. perhaps trivial but, we notice they give a free dish of nuts with each drink order at the bar and those unused (and coughed on and fingered) are put back into the store and re-served to the next customer. Not very pleasant if they've been out on someones table and maulled over for a couple of hours. Other than that try it you won't be dissappointed.
