Back in time at the Sheraton Park Lane

Review by: Will , London, United Kingdom

Stayed: Feb 2010

Overall a good stay.

It was a old fashioned, almost antique feel about the hotel - but that increased the character of the hotel. The tea room, which was central to the hotel was opulent, and too the enormous Art-deco ballroom.

The room wasn't finished to a high modern standard, but was clean and did maintain an "antique character" with high ceilings and original fixtures.

Our room was very square, the door opened right on to the hallway (usually there is a small hallway through to the bedroom in most hotels). It was a good change.

There were no coffee/tea making facilities in our room, which was a surprise. Also, the CD music via the TV's and the WiFi were pay - i'd hope for a 5* hotel these services would be free.

"The Old Park Lane," as the taxi driver commented, but still functioning.

We found the staff helpful, beds exceptionally comfortable, rooms spacious and well appointed. We did not stay in an executive room and found the bathroom in need of updating. The staff said executive rooms had modern bathrooms, but the hotel charges an extra 50 pounds to upgrade. Breakfasts were excellent, with good variety. There is a very pleasant bar and tea room. We would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Sheraton Park Lane

Review by: Kate , Rochford, United Kingdom

We stayed on business and found it a good hotel, with excellent service, and great food. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. And the deal we found on Skoosh was the cheapest anywhere on the net! However, if we'd been paying we probably would have felt it was too expensive at £250 a night, but then again, that seems to be the price you pay for a good hotel in a central London location these days.

Dissappointing experience

Review by: Richard , Ashtead, United Kingdom

Location was great - very central and good views over Green Park. However, the hotel rooms were tired and small. Service was not what I would expect of a 5* hotel.
