We would use the Brunel Hotel again

Review by: Jean Capener , Bristol, United Kingdom

Stayed: Apr 2010

For the price, of £62 pounds for a twin room in Paddington area, we could not complain, if you walked in off the street and asked for the same room it would cost you £120 PPPN.

Nothing too much to complain about except the wardrobe which must have suffered some damp at some stage, there were attempts to clean it up but we could still smell that smell of damp musty odour, so we did not us it.

On a plus point, the continental breakfast was amazing, my friend for £2.50 had a full english breakfast which was not included in the £62 we paid.

Would we use the Brunel again?, well yes we would, and that came from my friend who is somewhat critical and has high expectations of any hotels she stays in.

Not happy

Review by: Gerardo , Vienna, Austria

Stayed: Sep 2009

Positive points:
The location of the hotel is near the train station and lots of buses plying in the area.
Staff are accomodating.

Negative Points:
Price is rather high for the quality of the hotel.
Carpet needs replacement or just shampooing, it emits bad odor.
Towels stink despite being newly changed.
Water tank of toilet bowl can't fill enough water even for a single flush, had to use the waste can to fill the tank.

Nice hotel for the price.

The Brunel was a good hotel overall. It had a good location and clean, comfortable rooms. The hotel breakfast was excellent. The walls don't have much sound absorbing material, but since it seemed to be a fairly quiet neighborhood, the night passed quiet and restful. Our shower was difficult to use at times since it required just-the-right water pressure to turn on - otherwise it would knock loudly.

Overall, the Brunel was a good hotel for the price that I would recommend to anyone.
