An excellent hotel, very friendly staff and a courteous and polite manager. Unfortunately, we had beeked two rooms, one of which wasn't available due to damage/water problem by previous guest. However, we were automatically transferred to their sister Hotel (The Cranley) and also upgraded (although we were already in a luxurious hotel! ! ). A limousine was also arranged to take us to the new hotel.
A very excellent hotel and staff.

We loved Breakfast in Bed

Review by: tina&klaus , Friedrichshafen, Germany

No we wouldn't recommend it because it's too expensive. A beautifully decorated small room but the facilities... only one chair in a double room, looks very old was damaged.... dirty lamps and damaged window repaired with tape and the laquering peels off from the window ... but the bathroom was great.
All in all it didn't meet our expectations for that money.

The Cranley was OK, as always

Review by: a traveler from Germ , Pittsburgh, United States

Stayed: Jun 2009

We really used to like this small, cute hotel, and it is still very much OK. You cannot beat its location - very quiet residential street yet well connected. The tube station (Gloucester Road) is just two blocks away, convenience store at the corner, very good neighborhood restaurants and bars next door and just around the corner. It feels like you actually live in London and are not "just" a tourist. However, the service at the hotel (just how you are treated by the front desk people) has unfortunately gone way down since we first visited in 2005. Not sure if we'll go there again, but as I said, the location is really superb... (and the service is really not THAT bad...). In general, we would still recommend it. (It is clean, and although it has no restaurant/breakfast room, room service seems to be good.)
