Lovely, family-run hotel with friendly atmosphere. Good value for money. Excellent location for touring London ( RPL 04/07). Located in the Paddington area, just 2 minutes from the station with its excellent links, 4 metropolitan lines, the Express train to Heathrow Airport and railway links to the rest of the country. It is 5 minutes by bus to Marble Arch and the shopping district, convenient to all attractions in London. White, four-storey townhouse in keep with the surroundings. Small but practical, the reception has a long reception desk and a small sitting area by the bay window. Rooms are nicely decorated, with traditional furniture and en suite facilities. Some rooms still retain original Victorian features.

Europa was not the best choice for us

We picked this hotel because of it's great location, close to train and underground. Our room was 60 steps up from the lobby with no lift and no help with our bags. Another 15 steps down to breakfast in the cellar. The room was fine, the bathroom was not - it was ridiculously small with no counter space and a shower too small to turn around in. Lumpy bed with torn sheets and a comforter with feathers that poked us with sharp ends. The room was warm and even with the fan provided, it was rarely comfortable in May heat. Breakfast was tolerable, but never saw any fresh fruit or veggies - everything was fried and high cholesterol. Amusing moment - we discovered a staff member sleeping in his underwear on the lobby sofa in the wee hours of the a.m.
