Good value for money - made a booking for 3 adults and we were given a 2 bedroom apartment including breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Ok for a short break if you don't mind a lot of walking

Very close to Hyde Park and the Natural History and Science Museums are just down the road. However, I was visiting an exhibition at Earls Court and there are other hotels closer and more conveniently situated. Also, the hotel is quite a walk from any tube stations.
Reception and bedroom pleasant enough, although there were some worrying mildew stains on bedroom the ceiling. Room warm with plenty of hot water. Good buffet breakfast but the basement restaurant/breakfast room a little dated.
Staff very pleasant although I had the impression that the staff at breakfast wished they were somewhere else.

We've stayed at the John Howard for the second time and would have no hesitation in recommending it to other families. It is well located, just around the corner from the Royal Albert Hall. It is very affordable, by London standards. Rooms are a little bit old fashioned but are much larger than other London hotels. Staff are friendly and there is generally a feel of a small, family-run hotel rather than an impersonal city hotel. All told it's to be recommended.

Very nicely decorated in an old style, nice surroundings although there is nothing to do there really (the quarter of the embassies). This is the only drawback (it's a long way to London City - about 40 minutes). The staff was very friendly, and the service good. I didn't try the food. The room and the bathroom were both roomy and comfortable.
