This 4-star large superior hotel is located in the centre of London in Kensington area. It offers guests standard and comfortable accommodation, close to attractions, many restaurants and shops. *LOCATION* The hotel is situated in the upmarket High Street Kensington area by Holland Park and within walking distance from Kensington Gardens, Royal Albert Hall, the museum triangle (Natural History, Science and Victoria & Albert Museums) and famous shopping areas such as Harrods, designer shops of Knightsbridge or the Portobello market in the nearby trendy Notting Hill area. Also walking distance from Olympia exhibition hall and couple of tube stops to Earl's Court exhibition centre. The closest tube station is High Street Kensington (3 mins) which is served by the Circle and District lines that go directly to most of London's tourist attractions such as Buckingham Palace, the Big Ben or Tower of London (all within 10-20min journey). Victoria Station for trains to Gatwick is 4 stops away and Paddington station for trains to Heathrow only 3 stops away. *EXTERIOR* The property is a 12-storey modern purpose built building with a glass conservatory. *ROOMS* Rooms are reported to be reasonably spacious for London standards. They are reported to be in need of some light refurbishment however they are elegant and comfortable, decorated with neutral tones and natural wooden furniture. Bathrooms are furnished with black and white marble and are also reported to be a little dated, but are clean and well-maintained. *RESTAURANTS & BARS* The "Bugis Street" restaurant serves authentic Singaporean and Cantonese cuisine in informal and relaxed surroundings. "The Brasserie" restaurant serves international cuisine to suit all tastes. Continental buffet breakfast (full English option available at extra charge) is served 6.30 - 10.30am.

The best thing going for this hotel is its location, just off Kensington High Street, three minutes from the tube station. It is clean and the staff are helpful. Negatives? The high cost of using the internet - they really screw you here. And avoid eating in their bar in the evening; culinary standards have slipped over the years and the fish 'n chips and chicken curry dishes, once quite acceptable, are now hardly recognizable as such and barely edible.

A well managed hotel

The process through reception was swift, and our room, particularly the beds, was extremely comfortable. There was a tremendous spread for breakfast, and the evening meal in the Artists restaurant was excellent, with wonderful service. We used guest services to find nearest tube stations for the theatre, and some additional tea and coffee. The one downside was a guest in the next room, who must have arrived in the early morning, as he talked continuosly from 3.42am - not particularly thick walls. We would certainly use again.

The Millennium Copthorne Tara Hotel London vas nice

Very bad smell in our room - and the aircondition didnÂ´t do the job good enough - we felt that we could not get fresh air - and could not ventilate the bathroom after having a shower. Also we had expected that free, wireless internetconnection was standard and common at hotels in the large cities in Europa.
