This hotel is a good and famous property located in and unbeatable location. A very important part of the hotel was renovated during 2006/2007 so this property is one the best value-for-money hotels in the whole of London! It is situated in a very convenient location for tourists to visit London. (0708RPL) The hotel is superbly located in the heart of upmarket Bloomsbury, near to Russell Square underground station. It is within walking distance of Covent Garden, the British Museum, famous Oxford Street and all major tourist attractions. The building is a large, seven-storey building with a large and private central courtyard. The hotel has two lobbies, one for guests booked through agencies, the other for privately made bookings. Both are large and bright and decorated in a modern style. The hotel even has a 'departure lounge' for guests awaiting transport. The rooms are medium in size and kept in very good condition. They've been decorated using contemporary-classic wooden furniture and pastel colours. The bathrooms are also in good condition.

Second time lucky

When we first arrived,the room was a bit smelly and the plumbing was not working properly. But after mentioning this to staff,we were given a different room Which was much better. Location perfect. Did the job.

Room in very good condition (recently refurbished). Big problem though for a good sleep: sheets & blankets not wide enough to tuck in properly, so bedding comes off during the night! Info: English breakfast supplement when booked through agencies £5, not £15 as Skoosh website!

I found the Royal National to be a huge, but still a great hotel at this cost.

This hotel was good value for the money, I did not expect much, so I was pleasantly surprised when I got there. Yes, it was a huge hotel with many rooms, and a little difficulty to find the room. But, there were maps at the elevators, and when we atarted to use them, we had no problems finding the way.

Effective and strategic

The hotel is very big and cloudy. Its old fashioned. But, for two-three nights stay it is ok. Russel Square is very easy to get to from Heathrow. Take the Piccadilly line and thats it!
