Reviews of Wellington Hotel London

You get what you pay for at the Wellington Hotel

Review by: Mr Hornblower, Swerford, United Kingdom

Stayed: Feb 2010

I read the reviews before staying at the hotel and nearly cancelled but i'm glad i did'nt. They appear to have renovated the bathrooms and toilets all nicely tiled and spottlessly clean.
Yes the bedooms need to be completly redone and the corridors are a bit grim, but hey £50 a night in central London with an OK breakfast,
I would book again and recomend it to others,
The service was excellent aswell

The not so good wellington Hotel

Review by: beverley, derby, United Kingdom

Stayed: Jan 2010

Outside of the hotel fantastic, beautiful building, staff very pleasent and the bathrooms were excellent, unfortunatly after our first nights stay the bathroom was out of order and it was like staying in party central as a group of foreign students were staying but were running up and down the corridors shouting all night, rooms are clean but very basic, to be honest very glad to get home and won't be recommending it to anyone.

nice enough, good value hotel

Review by: leanne, ,

Stayed: Nov 2009

The hotel was a lot better than i expected for a £60 hotel in London. The shared bathrooms were very clean and quite modern, the only problem being that they were few and far between so if your room was at one end of the corridor you hada bit of a walk to get there. The room was nice, basic but clean. My only complaint would be the strict checking out rules. Your room states that if you stay up to an hour extra after 11am you are charged £10, £20 for two hours and any longer than that and they charge you the full rate for the room for an extra night. At literallu 11:01 am we received a phone call from reception reminding us we had to leave! Other than that, our stay was nice enough. Good location, good value for money. I would stay here again.

Great mattresses!

Review by: Maria, Copenhagen, Denmark

Stayed: Jul 2009

What I liked was...1) veeeery nice location: city center (10 min to walk to The Big Ben), very quite, expensive district.. huge field on the front side...
2) although the room was poorly furnished, it compensated totally with the greatest mattresses I have ever tried... sooo relaxing, so goood for spine...

And nice English breakfast...

All in all, I still have good memories)

Low budget accomodations

Review by: Jeremy, Jenison, United States

Stayed: Apr 2009

We knew London was expensive and that we'd be sacrificing a bit to stay anywhere for less than 80GBP or so but I thought this was a little to much of a sacrifice. The room was spartan but fine. Everything was as advertised and they let us borrow a hair dryer for free. My problem was with the bathrooms . It looked like the shower/toilet stalls were built with spare parts from someone's garage and the wall pieces weren't meant for wet applications. Parts of the walls were rotted out and were loosely attached. The restrooms frequently ran out of toilet paper and there was seldom soap. My biggest concern was that you have to turn your key back in every time you leave and then just ask for it back when you return, no checking ID... But, given the price I don't know if I'd make a different decision.
