Most of the guests I observed were young Asians travelling together. Room was small. Nearby construction noise was a problem in early morning. A good value but uninspiring.

I loved this place! By that, I mean the vibe and the beautiful iron work, the paint job, the lighting -- it created a magical feeling. The veranda bar is gorgeous. HOWEVER, the bartending was atrocious (1 shake Manhattan?? Where'd you learn to pour, dude? Also: A Mojito at 10 bucks made in no less than 10 seconds! Hardly muddled the mint.... ) and one should avoid anything requiring skill -- order a beer! I looked at the breakfast buffet and head 1 block to the Pantry and had freshly made bisquits and gravy with hashbrowns and coffee for $3.85! Cool place, that.... Also had dinner at Riordan's and the "Carvery" sandos are great -- I had lamb. Comes with Crudite. Finally, GO, GO, GO to Edison -- a beautiful and compelling nightspot about 8 blocks away. Loved it.

Impreed how well maintain for a 50s Hotel.
I was disappointed by the way treated by hotel personal at the front desk . Rooms have no carpet , beds looks like a bannana , bed not bad for a 5 feet tall person , TV only 13 channels . A/C on the wall , Bath room small and be carefull whwn taking bath is like being in a car wash ... The rest is up to you...God luck...

No. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures on the website. There was a funky smell coming out of the airconditioner (that was in the window). The room was very small and I could hear everything going on in the rooms above and below me. It seemed old and unclean and I didn't walk around the room without my shoes on.
