This is a user-friendly & good value tourist hotel. Recommended for following: very good location (within easy walking distance to Puerte del Sol, hop-on/off tourist bus, many restaurants, Grand Via, biggest supermarket el Cortes Ingles, pedestrian shopping area); lift/elevator; very good breakfast; friendly English-speaking reception staff; local tour booking facility; room tho' small had all necessary facilities except fridge (viz. safety box, hairdryer, tv, phone, hot water all times). As an elderly female seasoned single traveller I recommend it.

Overall good value for money. Ideal location; in the centre, access to the metro, buses & taxis.
The toilet in my room (711) stank like a sewer but I'm putting that down to bad luck. I presume the other rooms are better.

There's no doubt about it, this is an excellent location. At the Regente you are in the heart of Madrid! The hotel located in the Puerto De Sol area is within walking distance of most of the sights! The hotel itself is average. The hotel is an older building with a lobby, bar with internet access and a resturant which serves a pretty good breakfast. The room I stayed in was a single room on the 10th floor with a twin bed. Very, very basic, nothing speical at all! If you are sensitive to noise, this may not be the best choice. Again, it is in the heart of Madrid, the Pureto del Sol district which has numerous resturants and bars that close late. But on the 10th floor, I really didn't have too much of a problem with noise, but occassionally I did hear partying late at night.

Excellent location for city centre attractions - museums, Royal Palace, Gran Via, Plaza Major etc. Room was not close to road so was very quiet. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Overall good value for money.
