I would definitely recommend Victoria 4.
This is a great place to stay for a short break in Madrid as it is so central for all the museos, most of them within walking distance.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was kept very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. There is very little English speaking television but we did not find that a particular problem.
There is an excellent restaurant adjoining serving a very reasonably priced "menu de dia" with good home Spanish cooking.

Zeer gunstige ligging in het hart van de oude stad, dus ook met veel barretjes en eetgelegenheden. Gevolg is helaas dat het uitgaansgeluid op straat ook door de week tot wel 05.00 uur aan kan houden. Hiervoor moet je de ramen echt dicht doen, ongeacht waar je kamer ligt, maar dan is het ook gelijk stil. Airco kan dan zonodig voor koele lucht zorgen. Het ontbijt is niet luxe, maar wel voldoende en met goede koffie. Wel iets aan de krappe kant, maar dan moet je maar wat geduld hebben. Goede bedden en uitstekende douche.

Victoria 4 is a nice hotel. Add ons: location location location if you love being in the center and cleanliness. Acceptable breakfast, acceptable service and polite personnel. Value for money and it met our family's expectations. Being in the center has the disadvantages too. That is being in the center of noise! People from the nearby bars passing by are making noise especially when drunk. Nevertheless I would recommend it to those who dont spend much time in the hotel!

The location of this hotel was very good (a few steps away from Sol Metro station).
The room was very spacious, clean and nicely furnished. Although I reserved a room with a Queen sized bed we were given two twins; it was much of a problem since we just simply moved the two twins together.
At night, the neighboring bars and restaurants could be a little noisy, if you are a light sleeper, you might have a problem with this (I didn't have an issue).
Overall great value for the money and would definitely recommend this hotel!

Very good location, within walking distance to the main objec
tives. Take upest floor, to be sure that wou will sleep normaly. Is necessary to avoid big noises from the bars and restaurants during the night.
Good value for the money paid.
We had well receive from reception staff. They speak english very good and generally met our requests.
Dont hesitate to use services of the Victoria Hotel.
