The Colony's exterior is amazing art deco - interior (including rooms) is nothing special, but provides basic accomodations that are fine. Location is great.

The hotel's location was unbelievable. Rooms are very nice with a very contemporary look, but they are small (but so are most of the hotel room in SouthBeach). Beach was right across the street, and clubs, bars, and food all in walking distance. No cab rides necessary! I would definitely stay at the Colony again.
As for value: Skoosh had the best prices after an extensive internet search. We also called the hotel directly, but nothing beat the Skoosh price. Say anywhere between $100-140 a night would be a good deal.

Great hotel, great value, and Great Location! Everything was in walking distance, i.e., beach, bars, clubs, restaurants.
The hotel was clean and the staff was extremely helpful.

Location was great. Beds were very comfortable. I would recommend that you bring your own towels.
