National Hotel Miami Beach

My family was traveling to Central America and wanted to spend a couple of nights in South Beach beforehand. The National has an ideal location betwwen The Delano and The Sagamore and a lovely pool. A freak cold spell precluded us from swimming but we enjoyed the hotel very much. The lobby is OK - typically Deco but nothing much - and the rooms, which I was aware, are small but well set up. The bar at night is fun.

The only reason that I give the hotel 3 is that it is somewhat rundown. Everything looks like it could use a refurbishment and the bathrooms were the worst. However, the two concierges were among the best I've used in understanding every request my family made regarding restaurants, things to do, etc. I chose the hotel based primarily on location first and value second. The Skoosh room rate was fantastic and one I couldn't pass up - it was the right choice for us.
