We really liked the Sagamore's location -- next to the Ritz, very close to the Delano, Lincoln Road a few steps away. The hotel was quiet for sleeping. Beach was great. Pool was not huge but very nice. Food was hit or miss -- breakfast oatmeal was terrible, tuna panini very good. The room itself was fantastic -- very clean, comfortable, spacious. Awesome bed. Nice shower. Loved the art and design of the whole place. Service was a little spotty, but actually a little better than we expected based on what we'd read and heard about the whole area. We would definitely stay here again and plan to on our next to Miami. |

Everything you could ask for. Great rooms, great service, great access. Pros: Room was outstanding. Well put together, apportioned, and clean. A little mold on the bathroom ceiling, but it's Miami, it happens in the Ritz, too. Pool area was great. Despite having a private Sunday party (a regular thing), about 20 chairs were set aside for hotel guests. Get there early on Sundays, or you may have to wait for a chair. The party is worth it, though, if you are looking for a little "scenery." Beach service was good, although a little sparse and slow. Chairs were comfortable +reasonably priced along with umbrellas ($10, $15). Cons: Noise. It's South Beach, so people are up late. Very late. Cars honking horns, room doors slamming, etc. It occurs well into the night, so if you are looking for a nice quiet place to go, this isn't it. Walls are thin, too. |

I would recommend it any time. The combination of the art deco architecture with great modern works of art produces a unique atmosphere. The hotel is close to Lincon St. and has a driect beach access from the pool area. It was a good value for the price and exeeded my expectations. |

I would not recommend this hotel to others. There seems to be a major issue with the hotel management, lack of staff and experience with the one's that were there. From what I could gather the management or hotel general had changed or one was no longer available. The hotel had very few people staying there, other than us. The staff rotated positions (i.e. bell boy was also front desk, concierge was working a different position as well, pool girl worked the breakfast service etc.) The concierge had very little experience and mis- referred us to a shuttle boat to key west....the one she referred us to was an excursion on a speed boat around miami beach!), and other than James, the doorman/bellhop/front desk help, who was very sweet and helpful, the remaining staff had a rude attitude to accompany. The bar was closed for business, no room service. |
