Expectations were met. Nice pool and pleasant rental car staff/accommodations.
The hotel was a good 40 minute drive from the Miami International Airport (not so close as we expected). Watch the taxi fare- upwards of $40.00 to get from MIA to Howard Johnson.

Not for the life of me would I ever recommend this place to anyone. Not because I was dirty or anything, but because of the unbelievable rudeness of the staff. The fronts desk staff was rude and unhelpful, and the conceirge was the worst of the two. She talked down to me with resentment and I few other people actually commented about how ruse she was. My reservation was "lost" for my shuttle and I had to find my own way to the port. It was overpriced for being in the ghetto and I don't recomment anyone bringing a family to stay there due to the night club and the clientel it catered to. I didn't have high expectations for this place, but I didn' think it would be this bad!

I really dont recommend this hotel, i am very disappointed because the first night the air conditioner didnt work at all and the maintenance service was pushing us out of the hotel at the ckeckout date.
