Superior service, discrete and cozy

The hotel is wonderful and the staff make all the difference. We were treated so very well, they gave us an upgrade and included breakfast without our having to ask. It was something they could do, at the time, and graceously did so. We had many questions about shopping, restaurants, getting gas and directions and every time we got knowledgeable advice which was happily provided. The maid service was outstanding - complimentary water, and roomservice trays vanished instead of sullying te hallways. Many other guests were ..."known" in publiclly, but can count on the discretion of staff and other guests at this hotel - Thank you!

Lovely location

Upon check in, we were upgraded to a bigger room which was a pleasant surprise! The room was clean, bed comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful with complimentary beauty products. The room overlooked the cobblestone street which was fun to watch the people come and go. The free continental breakfast was by far the nicest I've ever had (and freshest!). Concierge was friendly and attentive, however recommended a VERY poor restaurant for dinner. Great value for the price and location and would definitely stay again.

Cushy yet comfortable

Good value especially with the kitchenette. Great staff and friendly service. Be warned that you can see someone showering given the frosted glass between the bedroom and the shower.

Old Montreal spot

We really enjoyed the courtyard breakfast and being so close to all of the beautiful walks in Old Montreal. The common areas o the hotel are great and the room was exceptional with one issue. The room was set up to use as a conference room so the bed was a "murphy" bed, although still a king, and the mattress lacked a little.

How sweet was our suite?

This hotel has a great location in the Vieux Port (old city) of Montreal. You can walk to many desirable shopping, dining, and entertainment choices. The staff is excellent, the concierge in particular. While at the hotel in July 2010, we learned that it is due for a complete renovation in the next year or so. Right now, its condition is maybe a B+. In-room wireless service was spotty. After renovation--assuming a decent fitness facility is installed--it could become a top choice for our return visit.
