Schweiz Hotel

This hotel was excellent value for money and a short walk to the central station (about 3 blocks). About 10-15 minutes to the main square Marienplatz, a nice distance to walk-off the terrific Bavarian sausages and beer. Rooms were fine, everything worked. Nice to have breakfast on the top floor with the balcony. Most impressive were the very helpful reception staff, who spoke good English. The padlock on my suitcase got bent out of shape so that the combination didn't work and I couldn't open my bag. It was fairly late at night, and I expected to be directed to the nearest hardware store for the next morning, but instead the guy at the desk fetched the toolbox from the basement and managed to cut through the lock with secateurs.

Also appreciated the cheap wifi connection to the rooms (2 euros for 24 h).

The Schweiz Hotel is not a bad hotel for the money.
The rooms could do with updating and
are fairly clean if a little small.
The location is a ten minute walk to the main station
in an interesting Turkish area.
Breakfast is quite good and you can eat out on the roof terrace.
Staff are helpful and we were recommended a very good place to eat not far from the hotel.
Overall, not a bad deal for the money.

Warm, cozy, quiet, well-kept place just two blocks from the train/subway station. In a neighborhood with cheap ethnic restaurants. Munich's old city starts several blocks away.

The free wireless Internet works great, and the staff are very courteous and friendly too.

The room was small by american standards, but was exceptionally clean and had a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was well above par. If you are looking to save a little money but don't want to stay in a dive this is a terrific option.
