This was our first time in Munich and we were delightfully surprised with this hotel. It has all the things you look for in a hotel - clean, comfortable, and in a good location. Plus it has some cool touches (like the door numbers) that make this place fun! My wife and I would definitely stay at the Kurpfalz again.

I would not recommend this hotel. Although the staff was pleasent and the breakfast ample, the rooms were tiny, no A/C making it imperative that you keep the windows open, which with three bars within 50 yards, a very noisy place. We had requested two rooms, one for three and one for two people. Expected a slightly larger room for the three, but no, just a cot crammed in what little space there was. Perhaps if you are traveling alone and in winter it would work, but not summer with a family.

This was a fabulous little hotel. Our room was small but comfortable and clean. The decor was nice and modern, staff were friendly and the breakfast was very nice indeed - plenty of choice available, from hot food, to breads, hams, cheeses, cereals, yoghurt and fruit, with a wide selection of hot drinks. A great value-for-money hotel.
The only downside was that our shower cubicle was tiny and it is at least 20mins walk from the city centre. However, a tram stop is pretty close. I also read a review on another website which stated the hotel was a three minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof - it is about 15 minutes, and my fiance and I walk quite fast!
We asked for a room away from the road, which is what we were given, although I don't think it was a busy road in any case. If you have mobility difficulties ensure you ask not to be placed on the top floor (5th), as the lift only goes as far as the 4th floor.
We would definitely stay there again - and it is in close proximity to where the Oktoberfest is normally held (about a km away)!
