The hotel was built in 1972 and consists of 644 rooms on 22 floors of which 263 are doubles and 31 are suites. The facilities include a pleasant lobby, a 24-hour reception, lift access, a café, shop, hairdressing salon, 2 bars, a games room as well as 2 pubs. Both of the inviting air-conditioned à la carte restaurants contain a non-smoking area. Guests may park their cars either in the hotel car park or in the garage. Internet access is also available in the hotel. This comfortable, luxurious hotel lies in the sophisticated Arabella Park, which houses the AltiraSPA in large grounds. It is just a short 200 m walk to the underground station, whereas Munich main train station is only 4. 5 km away. The English Garden, the artistic and cultural district as well as plenty of shops are all within close proximity to the hotel. The hotel offers its own indoor swimming pool, a spa area with a hot tub, sauna (with an ice-room to cool down), a sunbathing area with a fitness garden, a steam room and a solarium (for an additional fee). In addition, guests may take advantage of the massage service on offer for an additional fee. Sports enthusiasts may take advantage of the gym. A breakfast buffet is available to hotel guests every morning. At midday and in the evenings meals may be chosen from the set menu on offer. It is possible to book a half-board stay. Motorway Stuttgart A8: follow direction motorway A9 Nürnberg until Bogenhausen. Turn left to Effnerstraße and then into Englschalkinger Straße. The first road on the right is Arabellastraße. Motorway Nurnberg A9 (airport): exit Föhringer Ring/Frankfurter Ring to Bogenhausen. At Effnerplatz the guests turn left twice into Efferstrasse and then into Englschalkinger Straße-Arabellastraße. Motorway Salzburg A8: exit Mittlerer Ring Ost until Bogenhausen, into Denninger Straße and there turn left into Arabellastraße.

I've been to this hotel at least 40 times. The locale is very nice, very clean. Nice crisp rooms and bathrooms. The service generally speaking is decent, but it's rare not to have some kind of snafu of some kind per-visit: i.e. order twin beds, get a king, etc. Last time I got checked out early without my knowledge and had the things remaining in room taken. After blowing a gasket at the desk, it was corrected, but you get the idea. Aside from the sometimes random service events, it's a 5 star hotel.

Good value for money, helpful staff. As a conference location, the layout of the function rooms over three floors is a little inconvenient.

Excellent: wonderful indoor swimming pool, extensive breakfast buffet, helpful concierge and doormen, prompt room service, good room size So-so: furniture was in good condition but seemed a bit dated Overall, very good hotel service. I only found the location to be neither here nor there - took taxis to the expo hall and centre of town.
