Much more than we expected!

The location is great and the staff was very friendly. The rooms are very nice and spacious! I will definitely consider this hotel for my next trip to NY.

Disappointed With The Shelburne

The Shelburne is a recently refurbished hotel on Lexington Ave. However, beware, the rooms,although comfortable and large by New York standards, are extremely noisy. The Hotel is frequented by mainly business people and you will be disturbed constantly by doors slamming and loud conversation at all times of the day and night. Moreover, the Hotel allows pets and you may have the misfortune to end up, as we did, next door to one which barked non stop to the point where we had to insist on a change of room. We loved New York ,which is a vibrant and exciting city but we will stay at another Hotel next time

Had a great time

It was very good value for the money, considering how expensive New York hotel accomodations are compared with most other cities. The room was bright, clean, airy and the view fromthe 16th floor deck is great. After staying at the Comfort Inn on W 71st, by comparison your hotel is the Taj Mahal. You exceeded my expectations! I'll be back.

dark and dirty room

No, I booked two rooms at the same time for the same price the one was a dungeon it was old , dark, and it had cobwebs hanging from the ceiling but the worst of all was waking up and discovering a huge orange stain on the upolstered headboard. The other room was a deluxe luxury suite with a river view and a view of the Chrylser building, two flat screedn tvs, kitchenette with all new stainless steel appliances and granite countertops in the kitchen and bath but most importantly it was brand new and clean. NEVER AGAIN.

Great Business Bargin

3rd time I have stayed here, as our home office is nearby. A well-kept, clean place. Staff very nice. Rooms are big for NY standards. The neighborhood is an attraction-lotsof little resturants that locals frequent. Nice gym also. Rare Bar is loud, a young crowd, with great food. If you are there on business looking for a reasonable rate, hard to find in NY, I would say go to the Shelburne.
