Algonquin Hotel

Review by: William, Sherwood, United States

Stayed: Sep 2010

We found the Algonquin a good value for NYC . Location
B+ for our choice . Covenient to Theaters,Restaurants we like and shopping . A bit of a hike from Penn Station with rolling suitcase otherwise an A for location . Room small but very efficient. Quiet but thru the wall AC so loud it wouldn't matter if a band was next door ! Newly remodeled bath was great with a window that opened for ventilation.
Staff friendly and no surprises.

The Algonquin lives up to its history

Review by: Sally, Tallahassee, United States

Stayed: Aug 2010

I've long heard about this storied hotel but never stayed there while in NYC. It was a real pleasure. The historic charm of the lobby is perhaps the best feature, although the courteous staff and the small but well appointed room were nice. I will stay there again.

Wonderful Historical Hotel

Review by: Jennifer, North Attleboro, United States

Stayed: Aug 2010

If you are interested in staying in a beautiful historic hotel, this is wonderful. The lobby and hotel are well maintained and beautiful. The rooms are on the smaller side with older bathroom fixtures but they were very clean, comfortable and functional.

We stayed for 6 nights. Room was very tiny. No drawers to put any clothes. Closet was adequate. Great shower. very expensive breakfasts with a room service tack on charge of $4.00 per person. Employees very friendly. Beautiful lobby and great location.

Returned after 10 years to celebrate daughter's 21st birthday. The hotel is charming, service is excellent, beds are super comfy. The lobby and bar area are the ultimate in comfort and elegance. Matilda, the cat in residence, is the icing on the cake.
I highly recommend this hotel for service, atmosphere and location.
