Beekman Tower is still a top choice for us

Review by: Joseph , Davis, United States

Stayed: Apr 2010

Have stayed there before at a bargain price. Paid the same rate four yrs. later. Knew the rooms so had to ask for a better, bigger one than the first they gave us. Old but clean. Very very spacious. Good service. The internet hookup is too expensive for very slow, primative service. But the hotel has a great location in a good neighborhood so would go again. We are hardly in the room as spending most time seeing NYC.

An Art Deco gem

The hotel is conveniently located near the U.N. in Midtown East, and architecturally fascinating. The rooftop restaurant offers good food and glorious river and city views. We were very comfortable, though it was disconcerting that some of the electrical outlets didn't work, and there must have been a problem with the heating system because there was a portable heater in the room; the regular heater seemed to be working on our last day.

Although the hotel lobby was a little underwhelming, the suite was roomy and well maintained.

Perfect for us ...

Review by: joann and chris , Winnetka, United States

We got this hotel at such a sweet deal--on skoosh it was not much over $100 per night. At any NY standard, incredible. But this was above and beyond. The hotel used to be a residential building so the "rooms" are really little apartments. A kitchenette, a living room/dining room and a bedroom. It was VERY spacious and we got the smallest available room. The decor was very grandma-ish, but who cared at that price! Subway station about a 15 min walk but we got used to it. Part of town very cute and a bit away from it all yet still nearby all the good stuff.
Book it!
