It was comparatively affordable in the nyc exorbitant hotel market, which seems to have doubled since July! Only complaint...bathroom kind of small...no room for toiletries...bed just OK

We found the Belvedere to be an excelent choice of hotel while in New York. The hotel was very clean, staff very helpful and friendly, the location was very conveniant to Times Square, theaters, subways and restaurants. We stayed in a room with our two sons 17 and 21, there was plenty of room. Would have preferred Queen sized beds instead of full. My wife and I will stay there our next trip to NY. Try the Pozo Pastry Shop around the corner on 9th Ave.

Excellent location just of time square, yet very quiet at night. Standard room was very spacious with two double beds, very clean and well looked-after; kitchenette was handy especially for refrigerating food/drinks and making tea&coffee. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Only downsides were late check-in time of 4pm and lack of hotel bar. Would definitely recommend it and stay here again, very good value for money.

The service was excellent. The concierge was very helpful. The room was pretty large for a Manhattan hotel. But I where I was most pleased by was the location, Times Square and Rockefeller Center were just a short 2 block walk away. I would most definitely recommend others to stay here and to book through Skoosh where I got a great deal for a $125 a night stay!

This was a great hotel to stay at for our first trip to New York City. It is 2 blocks from Times Square and only a few more to Rockefeller Center. It's a block away from the subway too! The location can't be beat! I felt safe the whole time. Cops are everywhere at night which gives a sense of security at least. It seemed like a decent neighborhood.
The hotel itself is quite nice (especially for a New York Hotel). We came quite early in the morning just to drop off our luggage and to our surprise they gave us a room (it was only 10:30 am). So that was super nice! We paid $260 for the night through Skoosh. That was a good deal for the location and the room quality. The room was small, but not extremely so. We had a room on the top floor and had a nice view of the city.
The bathroom was tiny, but had a shower/tub and a sink and toilet (obviously). It was very nice and the little details made it so. There was also a mini fridge and microwave and sink in the hallway between the bathroom and room. Very nice and useful!
There is a diner around the corner (Olympic diner). Very good breakfast for a decent price (about $6-$10 each). We ordered and the food was on our table within 3 minutes!
Dinner at the Italian restaurant was excellent (when you leave the hotel walk toward times square and take a left at the corner with the flower shop - the restaurant is about a block or 2 - I remember it had Cielo or Ciello in the name). Very Good food! Pricey? Yes, but for all we got it was a good deal. Appetizer (don't pass up the fresh mozzerella and tomato slices with basil - Incredibly good), 2 dinners, 2 sodas and dessert cost us $60. Not too bad for New York and also for great food. You might want to make a reservation, but we did walk right in and they were able to find a place for us.
We had a great stay at this hotel. I would definitely return if given the chance. If you are lucky enough to find this gem of a hotel, you won't be sorry.

This is an excellent choice for any traveler. It's close enough to the Broadway district to be convenient (a block away), but also just far enough off the tourist track to feel like it's in a real New York neighborhood. I'll book here on all subsequent trips.

Great location and price for the location. Rooms were good, not great, and if you don't need a resort style hotel, this is fine choice.
