Review Eastgate Tower Hotel

Good location

 3/5

Review by: , Corte Madera, United States

This hotel is for the budget traveler. The hallways smelled of smoke, but the room did not. It was clean, furniture a little outdated. Bed was comfortable. Staff friendly. Loved the fact that it had a refrigerator. Convenient location.

New York Bargain

Eastgate Tower is in safe neighborhood and is close to restaurants, small shops and transportation. The front desk staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. The hotel lobby is tiny, consisting of a sofa, two chairs and a desk. However, my room was large and clean if bland and dated looking. My bathroom was clean, I had plenty of towels and there was ample hot water. The rooms have kitchens, which I found convenient to make coffee and a light breakfast each day. Many of the rooms have a large bed and a pullout sofa which might be good for a family. Eastgate Tower is not glamorous, but if you are looking for safe, basic and clean this might be a good choice for you. It certainly is an excellent value.

Eastgate Tower is a great value

Great location, clean and spacious room for an excellent price. Staff helpful, friendly and accomodating. I have been to NYC many times and this was definitely a great hotel and the best vallue. Daniel's bagels, around the corner on third ave, has wonderful hot bagels in the morning. Having the full kitchen was a plus. Plently of coffee and tea provided.

Met my expectations. Away from the tourist hustle and bustle, which may be a plus for business travelers.

Room was worn out and badly in need of an update. Lobby was small and cramped. Location was great.

The Eastgate Tower

I certainly recommend this hotel.
I travelled to nyc for a trade show and booked with Eastgate because it was less expensive than many of the other hotels that were recommended by the conference. I was shocked when I entered my room and discovered how huge it was and that it provided a couch, eating/work area, and kitchen as well. The decor was a little dated but the room was very clean and quiet. I didn't hear a honking horn or garbage truck once. The staff were friendly and helpful and the neighbourhood felt safer and cosier than most but was still easily accessible.

Eastgate Hotel experience

 4/5

For the price compared to the super-high NY market it was a pretty good experience. The rooms were definitely larger than most others I have stayed in. Bell staff was a little slow but nice.

It looks like it might have been apartments in a past life now converted to a hotel. It is a pretty good location.

I would stay there again.

It is not a 4 start hotel, it is more a 2 1/2 maybe 3 starts hotels.
Small room, old facility
Clean, not bad for a couple of days.
Good location
I would stay again

Eastgate Tower's rooms fine, location ok

The rooms are large, clean, and very well appointed with small, supplied kitchens. Nearby Third Avenue is a bit tacky; Second more upscale. An easy 5-minute walk to the Subway/Metro at 42nd St. links you to the Lexington line and buses. Staff friendly. Not cheap but the room, for NY, is reasonably priced.
