So the accommodations aren't what you'll find at the W hotel (located next door), but for the price you won't find better! Area was safe, rooms were acceptably clean, but lacking all amenities (e.g., no ice buckets). Highly trafficked, international crowd, but they do check for your room key to get on the elevator, so I felt reasonably safe. It is an old hotel, so some weird things like diificulty finding a place to charge a cell phone and the elevator may stop at every floor on the way down. Do not eat at the cafe, it was pretty gross, even by Times Square standards! I would stay there again. |

I would definitely recommend the Edison to others. The location is very good, right in the middle of Time Square, only minutes to get to Broadway and also close to the Port Authority (to get the buses to Jersey Gardens or Woodbuy Common!). 5th Avenue is only 2 Avenues away and a short walk. |

Clearly a 'no-frills' option, but it was clean and pleasant and in the perfect location for theater. The TKTS half price ticket line is less than one block away. We got great seats for a matinee of Guys and Dolls. The Edison Cafe is quick, easy and good. Sofia restaurant, also in the hotel was perfect for dinner before or after a show. I would recommend asking for one of the renovated rooms if possible and don't expect luxury bathrooms. It was a good value for a well-located New York City hotel. |

Lobby area was nice. People were very friendly and accommodating. Location was GREAT... just around the corner from everything! Price was unexpectedly reasonable. Our room needed some updating (i.e., new carpet, paint job, climate control), but it was adequate since we didn't spend much time there. I was impressed when we checked in but a little disappointed in the room itself. I got over it quickly, however. |
