WE WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO OTHERS . THE HOTEL STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THIS WAS OUR FIRST TRIP TO NEW YORK. ALL OUR EXPECTATIONS WERE MET WE BOOKED THIS HOTEL ON LINE AND REALLY HAD NO CLUE WHAT WE WERE DOING. THE HOTEL IS VERY CLEAN AND THE ROOM WAS COMFORTABLE ESPECIALLY THE BED. THE LOCATION WAS PERFECT IN TIMES SQUARE. WE EVEN HAD FRIENDS STAY THERE ONE NIGHT (THEY LIVE IN LONG ISLAND) AND THEY WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS HOTEL TOO. THE ONLY PART OF THE TRIP THAT WAS DISAPPOINTING WAS THE RAIN EVEN THOUGH IT DIDN'T KEEP US DOWN. THE FOOD WAS ALSO VERY GOOD. WE WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN WHEN WE VISIT NEW YORK AGAIN. SO CLOSE TO THE THEATERS AND MORE RESTRAUNTS AND PLACES TO SHOP, SHOP AND SHOP. CABS AND SHUTTLES AT THE FRONT DOOR READY TO GO ANY WHERE |

Given that the majority of reviews I read were bad, I tried to prepare mentally for a very bad experience, and was positively surprised. I seem to fall into the minority that found the Paramount adequate. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are indeed small. I received a complementary upgrade to a room with two beds, so space was OK, so a room with one bed could be indeed a bit small. Beds indeed are close to the floor and not superp, but adequate. Location is brilliant!!! An excellent Yoga place is around the corner (Levitate). Hotel is still undergoing renovations, so they do still cut water at some days on some floors. If you are not looking for luxury accommodation, this is OK - but it is basic, and a bit 'old' - lobby is funky, but some may not like it. |

I would not recommend this hotel. Not a good value -- beautiful lobby but rooms severely lacking. Rooms were small, bed on the floor and uncomfortable, bad decor. |

Walking into the lobby of the Paramount, I thought I'd love the place. Large, clean, modern, dimly lit (in a swanky sort of way). My room, however, left a lot to be desired: it was incredibly small (even by NYC standards), paint peeling off the walls, old TV with a lot of static channels. I practically had to crawl over the bed to reach the door to the bathroom. Colleagues staying in other rooms had similar reports, including one room where the A/C was broken (not a good thing in June!). |

Room was smaller than my closet which wouldn't bother me if carpet, furniture, etc. had not been so old, worn and in disrepair. I've stayed in small rooms in NYC before that have been functional and nicely appointed. This room was not acceptable. |
