Friendly staff. Let us check into our room at 6:00am after arriving from an over night flight. Clean and quiet. Exellent location if you are looking for a more local NYC experience. Request a room on the upper floors facing toward 6th Ave for the best city views.

We stayed a week at the Washington Square Hotel to settle our daughter into her dorm at Parsons. It was very close to the campus of both NYU and The New School. We could walk back and forth and attend the welcome weekend events easily.

It is in a very safe neighborhood, with lots of students walking about. There was terrific shopping for new students a few blocks away--Bed,Bath & Beyond, The Container Store, etc. We will definitely stay there again when visiting our daughter in the future.

The complimentary continental breakfast was very handy, with fresh fruit, muffins, cereal, coffee, tea, etc. You could also order more substantial fare such as eggs and bacon, but you must pay for it..

Good value & clean reasonable sized rooms with comfortable beds. The staff were all helpful & efficient. The restaurant was superb with excellent food and good service albeit the red wines were ice cold!

Superb location in a safe quiet academic location far enough away from the hectic buzz of the centre but with the subway only a 2 mins walk. Recommended.

I would recommend the Washington Square Hotel simply because of its great location--Greenwich Village right off Washington Square and Restaurant Babbo across the street (pop in w/out reservations and eat at the bar!). The hotel staff is incredibly friendly and outgoing which helped overcome the sparse room decor. For the money, I expected a more plush accommodation. I was surprised by the dorm-like interior hallways. The room was okay. Great bed. Nice bathroom. Acceptable. Good value? Hmmm... Location, location, location...
