Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls

We were on the 8th floor overlooking the Falls. Best part of the stay. Room was clean but wall paper was peeling in several areas, rust was noticable on the ceiling tile trim in the bathboom. Bathroom was very small, the smallest bathroom I have ever been in. We were in a room with 2 queen beds carpet was very worn and comforters were washed out but clean. Front desk was not at all impressive very outdated. Breakfast was included which was a tablespoon of scrambled eggs one toast 2 slices of hard bacon 2 well done sausages and amble amount of home fries. It was really nice being close to the falls but a good walk to most attractions and no shuttle. Good restaurants nearby but would definitely choose a different Hotel with class. Going back to Niagara Falls in the Falls all of us had great time overall.

Best location to have a forward view of both falls if you have kids and don't want to bring them to stay in the Casino or more classy Embassy Suites. Oakes has the best view/price ratio but make sure you are above 9th floor in summer to avoid bing blocked by trees.

The room facility is a bit old, esp. the bathroom and wall decorations. Didn't check out other facilities in the hotel but those are not the purpose to stay anyways. Staff are friendly so a great family hotel. I can sit on sofa and watch the water flowing for hours, not to mention Nik Wallendda was tightroping in front of my eyes.

I highly recommend the hotel. My room was very clean and a supervisor dropped by on the second day of a four day stay to ask if everything was OK. I did not expect vouchers for breakfast and was surprised and most pleased to have them. The staff were most informative when I asked for information and directions. The room had a lovely view and was well supplied with coffee and toiletries. I would definitely stay there again and have recommended the hotel to friends who will be in Niagara Falls this summer.

Definitely would not recommend it to anyone. It start off from the moment we got to our room, there were still partial streamers up in the room when we got in there. Obviously the staff didn't pay any attention.
The bathroom itself you could barely move in and when you took a shower the tub started filling up.
We were on the second floor and we could hear very distinctly the music from the lobby. When we went to speak with the hotel staff they brushed off what we were saying completely and said there was nothing they could do about it.
