Worst hotel experience of my life. The hotel itself was clean (thank god because you can't leave). The neighborhood is horrible. The staff at the hotel are rude & not helpful whatsoever. We left the hotel at 1p to get water- there was nothing but funeral homes, hospitals, & 1 McDonalds. Thankfully there is a restaurant inside the hotel. As we were walking to find water a local man stopped us (2 blocks from the hotel) & told us the area was too dangerous for us to be walking around, then firmly told us to go back to the hotel. Yes, you may save a few bucks from the other hotels in better neighborhoods, but you have to pay for taxis out of the neighborhood to do anything. The internet & elevator were broken. Hookers & pimps smoking crack on the corner. We paid for 3 days & left after2.

If you want a clean and inexpensive place to stay in the tourist district, this is a great place. The workers were friendly and very accomodating. Fresh towels, a.c. , television with some english channels all a plus. Attached is a restaurant for food that was very inexpensive and good. The $8 breakfast someone commented about was across the street! This place is located conveniently off the new Avenida Balboa/(Aven. Sur?) so lots of great walking paths along the ocean. A short walk to Paitilla and the multicentro mall. I call that section little america/europe. Free parking available as well.
I would stay here again and recommend it!

We stayed here the night before flying out of Panama City. It was a clean, standard room for sleeping. Short cab drive/walk to the more interesting parts of town. I'd definitely stay here again before a flight, but it's not great for a vacation hotel.

I HAD TO CHANGE ROOMS DUE TO MY AIR CONDITIONER BREAKING DOWN AT MIDNIGHT, THE NEXT ROOM WAS IN THE FLOOR THAT WAS ALREADY FINISHED AND WAS A LOT BETTER, WHEN YOU GO, ASK FOR A FINISHED REMODELED ROOM, PRETTY SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD, CLOSE TO EVERYTHING, RESTAURANT ACROSS THE STREET, NICE BUT EXPENSIVE, BREAKFAST WAS 8.00. DID NOT LIKE THE FOOD IN THE RESTAURANT FOR THE HOTEL. IT WAS QUITE AT NIGHT, MOST PEOPLE STAYING THERE WERE MERCHANTS WHO BUY CLOTHES AND ACCESSORIES IN PANAMA TO SELL IN OTHER COUNTRIES IN CENTRAL AMERICA. THE HOTEL STAFF WERE VERY ATTENTIVE AND NICE, PHONE CALLS WERE EXPENSIVE EVEN LOCAL CALLS, TAKE YOUR CELL AND TEXT INSTEAD. I WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN. IM FROM PANAMA BUT I LIVE IN THE US.

i could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel. Clean bed linen daily, and towels etc. The room and bathroom cleaned everyday. However the Restaurants Menu was printed in Spanish only which if you do not speak the language was a bit of a let down. But overall very good value for money, i would stay there again as many of the people i spoke to have done so. I think it speaks for itself when the place is fully booked all the time.

There was nothing special about the Centroamericana Hotel, but I would stay there again if needed. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked well. Although the lighting left much to be desired, they're currently renovating the hotel so I would expect this to improve.

All in all it was what I expected for the price I paid.

I found the Hotel to be decent, very clean and the area althought apparently is not the best, didn't felt unsecure. It met my expectations, not forgetting the price: cheap, exactly what I was looking for.

This hotel was very basic, dark and dreary. Air conditioning quite poor. Not in a great neighborhood for walking or seeing anything of interest. The price was reasonable, but all you got was a place to stay for the night.`

CentroAmericano was very basic but very nice. It was centrally located. The staff was very courteous. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were nice. I would definitely stay here again when traveling to Panama.

Filthy; the mattress was awful, the floors were dirty. Everything smelled. The neighborhood was very uncomfortable to us at night. Streets in the area were littered with garbage and broken glass. Panhandlers were outside the door. The telephone did not work. Towels were insufficient.
