Paris is expensive! From the hotel and down to Gare du Nord it's not really the best neighbourhood, but the hotel is right by Montmartre and the beautiful Sacre ceur. The room (nr 17) is small, below the ground (but with full-size window) and smelled a bit moist. Not sound proof. Tv did not work. Standard breakfast. Too expensive if compared to other European cities. Stayed only one night, and was happy enough.

If you're after a place to rest your head then yes, I'd recommend it to others. The staff are friendly, although the cleaners are not particularly quiet in the mornings! The double glazing is great at keeping the noise out. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but if you're expecting a duvet and your partner is a wriggler in bed, expect to wake up in a crumpled pile of sheets! Alas no tea and coffee in your room, only a drinks machine in the loby. The hotel is situated in a reasonable location, very convienient for the metro, although for me, the area did not feel as 'French' as I was hoping, but for the price it's quite resonable. Didn't try the breakfast as the reviews said not to but there's enough places to eat around the hotel.

I can recommend, the hotel is ok, rooms bit small, bathroom was without heating and really cold, in winter it matters :( Helpful service, public transport is close (M4, M?) Location: not the most beautiful and pleasing place.

The hotel is simple, clean and has friendly, helpfull staff. It is conveniently located between Gare du Nord (Eurostar) and Montmatre's Sacre Coeur. The area is a bit on the dodgy side, but not dangerous.
At the time I booked with my girlfriend, it was the best value for money alternative and for the most part was well worth it.
My only caution -and in fairness in our rush to catch the train we did not have the time to let the staff know- was that someone did attempt -unsuccessfully- to open the lock of my girlfriend's suitcase. The hotel mentions they have safe deposits at the front desk, but we did not need it. However we did not expect to have our locks tampered.
Bottom line: well worth it, but might want to reconsider if you have any valuables.
