Standard 3-star hotel. The hotel has an elevator, which is great if you have luggage (this is Paris, after all, where the average age of a building is 100 years). Two blocks from the St. Paul metro station, a little farther to the Hotel De Ville metro station. Walking distance to Notre Dame, the Louvre, etc. If you're gay, the hotel is in the Marais district, where many of the gay bars are located, so you don't have to stumble around looking for a taxi at 3 am.

We stayed twice: 3 nights, then 2 weeks later, 2 nights. Good beds, Room size was inline with other places we stayed. First time was top floor in back--quiet. Second time was the floor above street level in front--street noise was much reduced by closing the windows--we liked the bustle. Good night's sleep in both rooms. Good air conditioning. Hot showers. Good breakfast. Staff is uniformly friendly, and helpful. Several speak good English. All the staff we encountered had sufficient English to serve us monolingual Americans very satisfactorily. Great location. Many many restaurants within a two block radius. Grocery store and Metro top (St. Paul) two blocks away. Very easy to get to from Charles De Gaul airport---Take the B train to Chatelet Metro station. Take the 1 Metro to St. Paul's. Walk 2 blocks. Definitely would stay again and again.

The location is great. We've been to Paris a number of times so we knew what to expect. The hotel was clean, air conditioned (individually controled),modest breakfast, but then included in the already acceptable price, comfortable bed, good sized bathroom. We were in room 103, exactly infront of the lift, but nothing to compalin about-we found that all those reviews about small rooms & noise etc did not apply

THE BEDS WERE VERY OLD AND UNCOMFORTABLE, MY HUSBAND SLEPT ON THE FLOOR THE LAST NIGHT WHICH HE FOUND MORE COMFORTABLE! THE BATHROOM WAS LARGE FOR EUROPEAN STANDARDS.
