This completely renovated, comfortable hotel is housed in a typically 19th century building built in 1878 and comprises 57 rooms, of which 18 are superior and 5 are suites. Among the facilities in this elegant establishment, there is a bar decorated in a typically English style as well as a cosy lounge that has been fitted with woodblock flooring, comfortable seating as well as marble side tables to create the ideal atmosphere. The hotel offers a fully fitted conference room with a capacity of 18 persons for business guests and the chef Fabrice receives guests in the exclusive restaurant Pré Carré, offering both traditional and refined, creative cuisine. The hotel enjoys a wonderful location with fantastic views as well as one of the most sought-after addresses in Paris something that was recognised by film director, Robert Altman, who shot scenes for his film ?Prêt à porter' here. Located at the heart of the golden triangle, this unique hotel with its elegant, intimate atmosphere enjoys unparalleled views out over the famous Place de l'Étoile and the Arc de Triomphe. Perhaps the most beautiful road in the world, the lively Avenue des Champs Élysées lies just 2 minutes walk from the hotel and underground stations are to be found close by offering excellent links to the French capital's business district, La Défence, as well as to Porte Maillot. Despite this idyllic central, lively location, the hotel is unaffected by the noise of the metropolis and is an oasis of tranquillity as well as the perfect location to kick back and relax at. Air France offers a shuttle bus service from Roissy Charles de Gaulle international airport, which saves guests the cost of a taxi. Breakfast may be selected from an ample buffet in the breakfast room or be ordered to be served in the room; from 7 am till noon. By car, take the ring road until the exit for Porte Maillot and then onto Avenue de la Grande Armée. By underground, take lines 1, 2 or 6 to Charles de Gaulle Étoile station. By RER, take line A to Charles de Gaulle Étoile station.

We have been informed that from November 2011 Paris hotels may charge a 2% city tax on stays exceeding €200/night directly to guests before they check out at the hotel's own discretion. This hotel was the worst I have ever stayed in. I booked a room for one night for $392 for its location and the nice pictures they have on their website. When I got there, I was given a room that is worse than an attic! very small, 2 steps at the door to get to the bed and then 2 steps to get to the desk and 1 window facing a wall. I wouldnâ€™t put my dog there. When I went down to complain, the rude receptionist said that the manager has left and if I want to complain, hereâ€™s the computer in the lobby to do so! I had nowhere to go that night and had to stay. They have these rooms on every story at that hotel so be aware before you book. Motel 6 would have been much better than this one.

We were pampered at Splendid Etoile.

The location was perfect for our travels throuout Paris. the staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room for 3 turned out to be a two room suite so our 13 year old had her privacy AND her own balcony! I would definitely stay there again.

The Splendid Etoile was Splendid.

Location, location, location. Also, the desk crew were very informative and helpful as we spoke little or no French. The room was clean and very stereotypical of nice hotels in Europe. (ie chandeliers) Are expectations were met. As everything else in Europe, it was over-priced by American standards, but we were entirely satisfied.

We really like the Hotel Splndid Etoile

This hotel was very well located. You virtually look out the front doot and the Arc de Triomphe. It is a 5 minute walk to the Champ de Eleyesse, very central. Staff was very good and happy. all in all, highly recommended. Booking through Skoosh was excellent

Splendid Etoile: Perfect!

On our journey through France and Italy, we had a 2 day, one night stop in Paris. Having grown up there, I wanted a highly essential experience. The location was absolutely unbeatable, as it allowed up to absorb heavy doses of Paris walking without any afore thought. Great meal at our favorite restaurant , L'Entrecôte Porte-Maillot, and a 10 minute stroll back to the Splendid Etoile. The view from the room, of the Arc de Triumphe was inspiring morning, noon and, especially, at night.. On top of that, the staff was great friendly and helpful, the room very clean and nicely appointed. Add the fact that the Air France shuttle from the air port stops across the street and it was a perfect; convenient, comfortable and memorable experience. We'll be back as soon as we can and stay longer!
