The name of the hotel is in memory of a Pisan monk, lover of optic physics, who studied and spread the use of glasses. This is a tribute to all those who carry out their job with passion and put it at someone else's disposal. It was once a beautiful mansion in the centre of the town and then it was turned into one of the most elegant hotels of superior quality. Comprising a total of 16 rooms, the air-conditioned establishment welcomes guests in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service. Facilities on offer to guests include a hotel safe, lift access, a newspaper stand, bar, breakfast room, WLAN Internet access and room service. For an additional fee those arriving by car may leave their vehicle in the car park. The hotel is located in the town centre. It is easy accessible from the railway station, from the airport and from the bus station and very close to the Congress Palace and to the historical part of the town. The hotel has a quiet garden, where during spring or summer, the guests can relax on comfortable deckchairs or chairs, drinking some cold or hot drinks. A breakfast buffet is served each morning. From the motorway FI-PI-LI (Florence-Pisa-Livorno): Follow the signs for the historical centre-railway station. In the town centre, follow the white signs for the hotel.

Many Italian cities have introduced city taxes which guests will be obliged to pay directly to their hotel and we cannot include in the price. We would advise guests travelling to Italy to check with the relevant city tourist board regarding these taxes.

Tastefully furnished

Tastefully furnished, with comfortable bedroom and modern bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff, with excellent English. Conveniently situated ten minutes walk from the station along Viale F Bonaini, just into Via Della Spina. A few minutes further along Viale Bonaini is a good value , friendly restaurant "Cereria Alle Porte", well frequented by local people for meals and takeaways, and further along at Piazza Guerrazzi is a bar/pizzaria "Lissus", not far from the river. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again.

Very good - no real complaints

On the whole the hotel was very good. The only downside was that the heating in both my room and my sister's appeared not to work but it was fixed when we reported it to reception on two of the nights. Everything about the hotel was good quality and the staff were friendly and nice. The bathroom was lovely and modern and the towels changed every day. The location is brilliant - 10 minutes at the most from the train station where it was easy, even with very limited Italian, to buy tickets for day trips to Lucca and Livorno. And there's a train from Pisa airport to the train station that takes only 5 miniutes. I would certainly recommend the hotel and would stay there again if I return to Pisa, a lovely town.

Lovely Alessandro della Spina

Highly recommended. Smart contemptory decor. Large clean rooms. Excellent choice for breakfast (particularly for a three star hotel in Italy). Very pleasant staff. % minutes walk from Pisa Centralle station. Would certainly stay there again.

the Alessandro was more then acceptable

I would highly reccomend this hotel. It is convenient for the train and bus station as well as the airport. It is a bit of a walk to the sights. Desk staff were very helpful. Room was clean and had all of the ammenities.
