I would not recommend this hotel to others, as I've stayed in places that were the same price in good locations and were much cleaner. It did not meet my expectations in this regard; the carpet looked like it had NEVER been cleaned, nor had it been recently vacuumed. There also were several hairs on the bedspread which were clearly not mine (they were blonde and I am not). It was a pretty disappointing experience overall. Although the staff were friendly enough, as I mentioned earlier, I've stayed in much less sketchy places for the same price. Would not recommend this hotel. |

Because we were attending a function at the Portland Memorial Coliseum, the location was excellent. We liked having both a refrigerator and microwave oven. The continental breakfast was more that adequate. We especially liked the Belgian waffles. That was new this year. We had stayed before so knew what to expect. The people at the front desk were very accommodating and even did online check-in for our air travel. |

I would totally recommend this hotel to others. The front desk person (Jason) was super helpful with directions, transportation options and places to see while in Portland. The housekeeper was friendly and did a great job too. Great value for the money. The location was central and minutes away from downtown Portland, shopping, restaurants, the river walk, and other sightseeing oppotunities. I would stay there again! |

This is a relatively small hotel with clean and perfectly adequate rooms. The breakfast (included in the room price) was OK and included waffles in addition to the usual cereal, nasty Danish pastries and coffee. The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful. We arrived early with lots of luggage and they looked after our luggage until the room was ready despite the fact that they really had no suitable place to store it. My only caveat about the hotel was its location. While it is an easy three blocks walk from the MAX light rail and is within the downtown fare-free zone, those three blocks are a bit seedy, with homeless people sleeping and urinating in the street, so I would advise caution about walking this route alone at night. The hotel, however, was very secure. |

My wife and I were in PDX for the 4th of July weekend, and chose this hotel for its proximity to downtown, Amtrak station, public transportation, etc. The hotel staff is exceedingly polite and friendly, and hotel is neat and clean. It is close to rose garden, but is in a quieter neighborhood, across the street from a Crown Plaza hotel. Bus stop, and MAX light rail stations are a 5 minute walk southwards, and those are even free if you're just going downtown across the river. There is even a 7-11 behind. You get a mini fridge, nice TV, etc. They even gave us a 20% off coupon for the next stay. The only problem is that the walls/ceilings are thin, so you could hear stuff going on in other rooms. Also, the choices for continental breakfast were limited. Overall, a great experience for the price. |
