Stayed here our first night in Iceland. Basic room and very small bathroom but the staff was very nice. They checked us in very early (8:30 a.m.) and invited us to have the free breakfast buffet. They were very helpful with providing info. during our stay and very pleasant. |

So impressed with this hotel - our stay was for 4 nights, bed and breakfast and was SO reasonable! The room was small, but workable as was the en suite, but all immaculately clean and perfectly functional. Hot water all the time and the shower was powerful, unlike in some cheaper hotels. The breakfast was continental, but absolutely fine to set you up for a day's outing. The staff were really friendly and helped us organise lots of trips. The location was faultless - right in the centre of it all, and next to the huge cathedral - so you could always find your way back to the hotel! Free tea and coffee 24/7 was really impressive, considering we paid £1+ for the same machine tea and coffee in some places! Would definately recommend. |

The good: At $40 a night, the price was hard to beat. Breakfast was much better than expected, consisting of cereals, yogurt, cold cuts, cheese, veggies, fruits and breads, tea, coffee and "juice". The front desk was extremely helpful in booking tours and giving dining/shopping advice. There was a nice sized cafe area where we could hang out with our friends. Great location. The not so good: Small room with no area to open up 2 suit cases. Tiny bathroom. Smallest shower ever. I felt like I was showering wearing a cape, due to the wet shower curtain blowing into me. Although there was a flat screen tv in our room, we only got 2 channels. No alarm clock. Apparently the hotel does have hair dryers for guests, but we asked every day and they never had one. |

I would recommend it to others. The breakfast was more than adequate, the times we woke up earlier enough to eat it. It is nicely located. |
