The hotel is situated directly overlooking the Copacabana Beach and is a short ride from the shopping centres and main tourist areas of Rio. This is a very good hotel in an excellent location and with outstanding features for its category. For those who are looking to relax there is a swimming pool and terrace with a marvellous panoramic view of Copacabana Beach. This is a modern, purpose-built structure which is typical of many of the older beachfront properties of Rio. Rooms are medium to large in size and decorated in light colours with light wood furnishings. Rooms are carpeted and in very good condition and so are the bathrooms. Most of the rooms have partial ocean view. The lobby is medium in size with tiled flooring and incorporates a small seating area. The restaurant is situated on the ground floor and serves local and international cuisine. 10 kms to city centre, 10 kms to the nearest airport (santos), Close to the beach.

Exterior renovation of the building will be taking place (Aug - Dec) scaffolding will be visible

superb location

I would recommend this hotel, especially if its your first time in Rio , the location is perfect for you to get your bearings, we had pre-booked all our trips, not knowing taxi's were right outside and sugar loaf was also within sight if not walking distance. The hotel decor in its public areas was very nice rooms could really do with a makeover though! but maidservice,roomservice and maintenance could not be faulted. Roof terrace very small but considering whats across the road you dont need a big pool or terrace.All in all would recommend this hotel

This was the worst hotel experience of my life. I have spent thousands of nights in hotels around the world in my life, but the stay at the Regente was the worst. The rooms are small, at times there is no hot water from the showers. Hotel is frequented mainly by large groups - feels like a zoo at times. Also whilst I was there major renovations were taking place. I was disturbed at 7 am by noises from workers, drilling and hammering, not ending until 7pm. The icing on the cake was the abysmal customer service. On 4 different occasions I asked to talk to the Manager. He never ever even bothered to contact me. I wrote to Golden Tulip and complained - never heard back from them either! I will never again stay in their hotel due to the inaction of one person. They totally ruined my holiday.

Golden Tulip Regente , Copacabana

The staff is very friendly, efficient and attentive to our needs. The breackfast was excellent with an enourmous variety of foods. My wife and family will certantly return to this hotel because they make you feel at home. Thamk you for a great service!

Luxor Regente is in a great location. It's at the western end of Copacabana Beach, within about half a mile of Ipanema Beach, so you can get the best of both worlds. We had asked for an ocean-view room, but when we got there, there were none. I think that has to do with the class of room. I believe we had booked a "standard" room. They offered an ocean-view room for a small additional daily supplement (under $10) which we felt was reasonable, but they ultimately did not have any of those either. So they were very kind to offer a "Superior" room on the side street (that still actually had a peek-a-boo ocean view) for the same price. While they made up the room, they offered us a free caipirinha on the roof terrace! Well, when we got the room, we were a bit surprised because what they classed as a "Superior" Room was really no more than what anyone would consider a "Standard" room in this country. It was totally acceptable, clean and fully functioning. No complaints really, but just made us understand that we would need to book at least a "Superior" from here on out. It also took a little while to figure out how to raise the rather oppressive sunshades outside the window, which when down left the room very dark and closed feeling. Make sure to lock ALL valuables in the room safe. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
