Fantastic Value

My husband and I stayed at Bailey's May for 3 nights and were very pleased. The rooms, although not large are big enough for 2 and were very clean, unfussy and decorated nicely. The bathroom was fine with a powerful shower and plenty of hot water, even for a bath, which is needed after walking around Rome all day! The breakfast was very good with lots of pastries, cold meats, cereals, fruit etc . If you'd rather a hot breakfast it was available at an extra cost. The hotel has a great location for walking around Rome, which I would suggest, as you miss out on so much if you take the bus/trains (termini station around 10 mins walk away). We walked to the spanish steps in around 20 minutes. There are some very nice restaurants around the hotel so no need to go far after a long day.

OK: room size (for Rome); bathroom amenities; decor; cleanliness; breakfast room charming and good food quality Not OK: shower curtain too small (this is bizarrely common in Europe) so water gets all over the floor; internet access costs extra; location not convenient to anything really; staff not particularly friendly (also common all over Italy)

This is a very nice hotel, very clean and nicely decorated, breakfast acceptable. The only slight downfall would be the location - slightly out of the way for the main attractions - but if you like walking this isn't a problem ie 40 mins walk to the Colesseum - but it is a nice walk! It is about a 20 min walk from the termini station. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful - particularly reception with only one exception. Excellent restaurant close by on Via Flavia - look for the red umbrellas. Good value for money - would recommend.
