The interiors of this charming, historical hotel, originally built in the late 15th century, are furnished in Empire style and contain several public areas and rooms: the reception, open 24 hours for reception and check-out, adjoins the lobby and bar, a pleasant space with a warm, elegant ambiance, where hot beverages, drinks and snacks are served. During the summer, the bar opens on the hotel's lovely roof garden which overlooks Rome's rooftops, a rare privilege for a Rome hotel. Among the 28-room hotel's other facilities are air conditioning, a hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, lift access and a TV lounge. The hotel restaurant provides fine dining, or guests can take advantage of room service. Internet access and laundry service are also available, and the hotel offers conference facilities.
The hotel is located in the heart of Rome, just steps from Piazza Venezia and Via dei Fori Imperiali, amidst the treasures of the ancient empire and the liveliness of the modern city. A 16th century building conceals the refined elegance of this establishment, one of the most prestigious historic residences in Rome. The hotel is in easy walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants and many of Rome's most famous sights. Termini train station is around 20 minutes away by public transport, and Rome Ciampino and Fiumicino airports are around 25 km and 30 km away respectively. Breakfast is served on the terrace from May to October and includes an American buffet. Breakfast is also served in an equally pleasant interior room in the winter. By train and bus from Rome's Fiumicino Airport or Ciampino Airport: Take the Leonardo Express train (from Fiumicino) or one of the shuttle buses to Termini Station. Take bus number 64 and alight on Via delle Botteghe Oscure, or take number 170 and alight at Piazza Venezia. Then, walk along Via di San Marco and continue on Via delle Botteghe Oscure and turn left on Via dei Polacchi. The hotel is at number 23. By car from the Grande Raccordo Anulare: Take exit 1 (Aurelia towards the centre-centro) and continue on Via Gregorio VII until the Lungo Tevere. Drive along the river and turn onto Ponte Garibaldi. Cross this bridge and take Via Arenula (this is the beginning of the pedestrian area). At Largo Arenula, turn right onto Via Florida, then Via delle Botteghe Oscure. The second turn on the right is Via dei Placchi and the hotel is at number 23. |
