General information:Built in 1908, the Maxwell in San Francisco is a stylish restored masterpiece with a Deco flair located in the heart of Union Square.Location:The Maxwell Hotel San Francisco is located in the heart of the theater district. Area:The hotel is walking distance to Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's, Tiffany, Nordstrom, several other fashionable boutiques, art galleries, Moscone Convention Center, Yerba Buena Gardens and the Museum of Modern Art. Recreation:Onsite we have Max's on the Square Restaurant & Bar which serves delicious NY deli fare, high-speed Internet access in our meeting room, in addition to our existing wireless, high-speed Internet access in our lobby and restaurant, Health club privileges, Bellman, concierge and business services, and unique services for shoppers including gift wrapping, department store coupons, foot massagers on request and a Maxwell Hotel Shopping Bag in every room. The hotel was conviniantlly located at down town San Francisco.Everything and everywhere was around the corner. Would defnatelly stay there again.

this hotel has the perfect location, it's only a couple blocks from union square...however the hotel is very old and not clean. it's perfect if you want to be able to walk around and see the city and have a place to go to sleep otherwise i wouldnt recommend it.

The location of this hotel was perfect for seeing the city. The hotel itself is old, but tasteful and nicely decorated. We were given a junior suite-- which I believe was an upgrade-- and had plenty of room. In addition to a large king bed, there was a very large closet, and a nice roomy sitting area. Overall, it was perfect and I was very happy to find a hotel for this price in this location give that most of the hotels in the City were booked up that weekend.
