The decor was lovely, and the staff was polite, but not particularly friendly. On a previous trip to Seattle we had stayed at The Inn at Harbor Steps where they had hot drinks and cookies at the front desk. The Red Lion on Fifth has cucumber water. That pretty much sums up the atmosphere. You won't find much warmth here.
Although a separate enterprise, the Elephant and Castle Restaurant and Pub on the lower level was very nice.
Overall, it was a good value, but we'd probably choose somewhere else next time. There are many nice hotels in Seattle.

I love where this hotel is located in the downtown area -- close to Westlake Center and Pike's Market, within walking distance to so many great things! Nice decor and hair products. The only negative is the slow elevators, but if you're not in a hurry it's no big deal.

Highly recomended, excellent location for exploring Seattle. Qallity, comfort and plushness of room and beautiful lobby area. Good value through Scoosh. The room was more than I expected.

My wife and I were very satisfied with this hotel. The location was great for our needs as we both wanted to be in walking distance to the convention center and Pikes Place Market. It was very clean and the staff was very curteous. My wife's only complaint was the lighting in the bathroom was not very bright and there was no wall make-up mirror for putting on her make-up and fixing her hair. She got by fine though and we will not let that stop us from staying at that Red Lion Hotel again. She will just bring her own small mirror!

My husband and I have sampled at least a dozen hotels in Seattle, from deluxe to moderate, as we travel there frequently to visit family and friends. The Red Lion is a mid-range, busy hotel, with many groups coming and going. The location is central and excellent, within easy walking distance of everything downtown. The rooms have all expected amenities, and the room-service breakfast (the only meal we had there) was delivered very promptly and was delicious. Service was always friendly. Our only complaint was in regard to the ventilation system, and it was promptly and courteously fixed.
The gym is small, but well-equipped.
We would recommend this hotel to others, and intend to stay there again, as the location is perfect. It is not our favorite hotel in Seattle (The Inn at the Market is) but the value here is excellent.

Wireless Internet, right in the middle of everything, great customer service are just a few things this hotel has that stands out amongst the rest. I definitely would stay here again!
