Hotel says its a 4 star but not there yet
Staff very helpful and friendly
Rooms clean and basic

Trams stop across the road ..get a day pass for 4 Lev
Walkers amongst you .. watch the pavements ... a lot of trip hazards
Taxis are cheap there are different rated ones but still a lot cheaper than UK prices

Was to stay two nights last week but when I arrived I was told the hotel was overbooked for the first night because of a seminar. Was disappointed as had several meetings to get to but the Rooms Manager was very professional and quickly arranged alternative high quality accommodation in a nearby hotel and an upgrade for the second night in the Sheraton.
The best thing about the hotel is its location, in the perfect centre and can walk to nearly everywhere. Pay-for wi-fi these days is a big negative.

We recieved an upgrade and so this hotel was greta value for money. It has the annoying rule that you cannot take food or drink out of the buffet in the morning. So if you want a bottle of water for your day you will have to go a shop around the corner. Aside that well worth staying.

I would say if your company is paying stay there. The rooms are comfortable, the bathrooms perfect and the staff polite. It lacks genuine warmth however.

Location wise, it is near the center, but not quite in it. One is thus dependent on taxis to reach nice dinning areas around Vitosha boulevard and others. Their restaurant is trying hard to be an Italian gourmet experience, but it is slightly overpriced, of course.

On the weekend prior to my business days, I booked myself in Scotty's Boutique hotel for 58 Euro a night and had a wonderful stay. Their staff is great and helpful, internet is free, and they are right downtown. It does not offer all the comfort of the Best Western, but I think I would rather go back there.

Booking on Skoosh I saved 11 Euro a night, hats off to them.

The hotel is good, confortable and clean with a very kind personnal. The hotel is a little bit far from the center and the taxi drivers are not always honest....

I chose the Lion because of the proximity to the train station however I ended up having to take the tram and got fined 10 lev for not buying a ticket for my suitcase which I didn't know about. I wish now i had just spent a bit more and stayed at the underwhelming Princess.The staff of the Hotel was beyond friendly and helpful- they were really A plus. The room was clean but the only drawback there was an awful smell coming out of the pipes in the bathroom. I was on the very top floor so I don't know if the whole hotel is like this or not. Nex

For a one night stay it was adequate. Bed was comfortable, clean, as was room and bathroom. Good shower pressure.
Don't bother with breakfast. It was that sort of coffee that you don't believe still exists, stand your spoon in it, strong for strengths sake, and no flavour. As for the orange juice, diluty stuff. Had a quick cup of tea and left.
3 out of 4 reception staff very nice and helpful. Handy to walk in to town.
Great value for money!
