we loved the restaurant at metropol

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful — I would recommend hotel Metropol to everybody. The hotel feels expensive even though it isnÂ´t. The rooms are large enough, although me and my friends were not happy with the spare bed. (The armchair in the room was rolled out and it was very hard to sleep on.) The restaurant at the hotel was nice and the food was fantastic. The breakfast was exactly my cup of tea, not too much to choose between. I myself have stayed at metropol three times and have always been satisfied by their service. The staff is polite and the the hotel is located in a good place.

mixed feelings

I stayed there for the second time. Again at night noise from the night club in the back side. Car alarms go on an off along the night. I was assured that the room is quiet... Some smile or friendly word (like in every other place in Old Town) at the reception would also add to the feeling. Otherwise good standard.

Appropriate for price

We only stayed one night before catching an early flight the next morning, so cannot comprehensively review services like breakfast, room service, concierge, etc. We did request a wake up call (for 345am!) but didn't get it. The room appropriate for the price, and it was just a short walk from the Old Town - not bad at all. But a few days prior we had stayed at the Merchant's House Hotel in Old Town - I could go on and on about how great it was, but we also paid more than twice as much per night to be there.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful — It was difficult to find as it is down an alleyway from Mere Pst. The hotel itself is posh and the rooms are big with a retro '70s feel. The bed was big and even the arm chair was too. Old Town is easily accessible from this hotel as is the more modern area.
