Hotel Telegraaf -
There was a time when the telegraph building was a central spot in capitals around the world. The architecture was impressive, reflecting the importance of the new and sensational telecommunication technology of those days. The telegraph building was a natural meeting place where telephone calls and telegrams were dispatched manually by special service staff. Tallinn's former telegraph building, built in 1878, has now been carefully restored and transformed into this unique and luxurious 86-room historic city hotel. The most important features from the telegraph era have been preserved and developed and the amenities of a 21st-century luxury hotel added. In addition to a lobby area with 24-hour reception and check-out services, a hotel safe, currency exchange desk, cloakroom and lift access to the upper floors, facilities available to guests at this air-conditioned establishment include a bar, restaurant, conference facilities and wired and wireless Internet access, as well as room and laundry services and cellar for storing bicycles. Those arriving by car may leave their vehicle in the hotel car park or garage.
This hotel is located right in the city centre, just walking distance from the Town Hall Square in the heart of the Old Town of Tallinn. Tallinn Ulemiste Airport is approximately 5 km away from the establishment.
Life is a voyage, a journey full of discoveries. Guests can discover well-being in the lifestyle spa at the hotel, a wellness voyage and a perfect place to relax the mind and nourish the body. The spa menu offers a wide range of advanced spa treatments of the highest standards, including facials, massages and body and hand therapies. Alternatively, guests can take a dip in the indoor swimming pool or warm up in the hot tub, sauna and steam room.
A full buffet and an à la carte breakfast are included in the room rate. Lunch and dinner are available to be enjoyed à la carte. The Tchaikovsky restaurant represents the symphony that is Russian cuisine.
Turn right from the airport towards the city centre. Drive on the road Tartu mnt. Continue straight ahead and pass the Stockmann department store until the street changes to Rävala pst. From Rävala pst. , turn right to A. Laikmaa street. Turn left from the next crossing, in front of Viru Keskus to Estonia pst. Drive straight ahead, over a big junction and pass the Vabaduse square. Keep to the right, and when a boulevard and a church are on left-hand side, turn right, from Kaarli pst. to Toompuiestee. Drive along Toompuiestee, pass the train station and over a hill straight ahead on a narrow street, Rannamäe tee. After a small park, turn right, from Rannamäe tee into the Old Town to the Väike Rannavärav street. From the first crossing in cobblestone streets, turn right to Olevimägi street. From Olevimägi, the first street to the left is Vene street - a few hundred metres straight ahead and the hotel is on the right-hand side.

Me and my wife stayed three days at the Telegraaf in Tallinn, and our high expectations were met.
The hotel is very nice, helpful and very polite staff, and our room was clean, comfortable and welcomming. We enjoyed sleeping there. We also taked about the beds being the best hotel beds we have slept in so far.
The breakfast did not live up to our expectations, but it was nice anyway. Just not luxurious as expected.
The spa treatments are also recommendable, but not our best experience ever.
The pool area with spa, sauna and steam bath is small but very enjoyable. There is not space for many people, but it seems that the area is not over crowed.

Terrific Telegraaf

Review by: David, London

Stayed: Feb 2009

Spent two fantastic nights at Hotel Telegraaf in February. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the Old Town on a quiet street although close to restaurants and bars.

The room was great and the staff were particularly helpful and attentive. The highlight however was the spa which was perfect for thawing out and unwinding after a busy days sightseeing!

The Hotel Telegraff was a plesant experience

Review by: Michael , Nurnberg, Germany

Yes. The hotel was located in the old part of Tallinn and was fairly close to the town square, however, it was not too close.

The hotel price was extremely reasonable considering that Estonia is part of the European Union.

My expectations were not only met but exceeded.
